MC Structures

Basements &
Retaining Walls Perth.

Basement garages, structural retaining and off-form concrete walls — formed, reinforced and poured across Perth.

Basements & Retaining

In-situ walls that hold their ground.

MC Structures forms, reinforces and pours in-situ concrete basements and retaining walls across Perth — basement garages and cellars on sloping blocks, structural retaining for site cuts, single-sided walls poured against piling, top-down construction, and feature concrete walls left off-form. Wall formwork is built plumb and braced, reinforcement is fixed to the engineer's detail, and pours are managed for a clean face and proper compaction.

Basement and retaining work pairs naturally with a suspended slab over the top — we deliver both as one structure under one contract, from the footings up.

Getting out of the ground is rarely just a concrete job. We have working relationships with some of Perth's best residential piling contractors, geotechnical engineers and soil stabilisation specialists — so whatever stage you're at, from a sloping block you're still weighing up to engineered drawings ready to price, we can help pull the right team together and advise on the most cost-effective way to build it.

Pricing

What drives a basement or retaining wall price.

Wall work is priced off the engineer's detail and the site, not the square metres alone:

  • Wall height & thickness
  • Single-sided versus double-sided forms
  • Off-form finish class
  • Waterstop and joint details in the design
  • Steel density & congestion
  • Access & pour staging

How it runs

Start to strip.

Footings

Strip and pad footings formed, reinforced and poured to the engineer's detail.

Wall forms & steel

Wall formwork built plumb and braced, reinforcement fixed with starters, laps and cover to spec.

Inspection

Steel presented for the engineer's inspection before any concrete is booked.

Pour the walls

Placed and compacted in controlled lifts for a clean face.

Slab over

Stripped, then straight into the suspended slab over the top where the design calls for it — one contractor, footings to deck.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Concrete retaining wall or limestone blocks?

For structural retaining on site cuts, engineered in-situ concrete walls handle greater loads and heights than block systems and can double as basement walls with a slab over. Cavity-filled brick walls sit in between and suit plenty of residential sites. For low garden retaining, blocks are often the economical choice. We'll give you a straight answer for your site.

Can you build a basement under a new home?

Yes — basement garages and cellars on sloping blocks are a specialty. We take the structure from footings through walls to the suspended slab over, as one package.

Do you handle waterproofing details?

We build to the waterproofing and drainage details on your engineer's and architect's drawings, including waterstops and joint details. Simple bitumen-based roll-on systems we can apply ourselves; for specified membrane systems we coordinate with your waterproofing contractor.

We're still at the planning stage — can you help?

Yes. Through our network of piling contractors, geotechnical engineers and soil stabilisation specialists, we can help you work out the most cost-effective way to retain and build on your site before the design is locked in — then price and build it when you're ready.
